Tempest just wants to figure out how to be normal, now that she's not a trained assassin. But trying to re-enter the world and take charge of your own destiny--something you've never been in charge of before--proves to be a big task. And Tristan makes it bigger. A tattoo artist/ single dad/ part-time security guard, he insists on knowing Tempest. Can she handle being known?
This was a great story for me, because it gave me lots of insight into what happened after the Garden fell. I read the Predators MC series and this was a nice companion. I love Tempest. She was scared, but not too scared to try and I appreciated that. Tristan started off good and fell off acting oblivious about his little "friend." I almost didn't want him to be forgiven but that glimpse into his past and his motivation made it okay. Tempest deciding to create something for herself was inspired, and I love The Heights. I'm definitely getting into that next.
