dark lighthearted mysterious relaxing fast-paced
definitely not a bad book. i finished it in a few hours. but it’s also not…great? i’m definitely gonna read the next one bc i like the characters and the plot but it’s weird bc i wouldn’t really recommend it. i do have to admit, i love the unconditional loyalty and adoration daire and alrik have and it’s got me thinking: why the fuck have i not read more royalty books with a queen instead of a king????? that had to be my favorite aspect, the deference to shara. 

there was def a lot of errors that could’ve been caught by a decent editor, and the plot telling was a bit too much for what i would essentially call a vehicle of smut and blood play but it was a good read.
