The Future of Architecture in 100 Buildings by Marc Kushner

5.0

Read in honor of my acceptance to the BAC (and because it's been on my shelf for too long).

PT: RATW: everywhere. Just... everywhere, architecture, non-fic, books that make me feel like Annabeth Chase

WIL
1) representing so many diff countries. The single most impressive thing about this selection of buildings is the sheer geographic spread. All seven continents?? This book covers ALL SEVEN CONTINENTS??? EVEN ANTARCTICA? That's absolutely bonkers and I am HERE for it. Incroyable. And I mean yea, there was some greater emphasis on European locations, but it was still WAY more balanced than most of the other architecture books I've read. This actually includes places in Africa, and that's places PLURAL. No one does that! Bold move, Kushner. Bold and well-executed.

2) GREEN AND SUSTAINABLE ARCH!!! YES YES YES YES YES. TH A T 'S WHY I PICKED THIS UP! That's the reason I spent like $1.25 on this at a local sale. I'M IN IT FOR THE SUSTAINABLE DESIGN IDEAS BABEY. And oh MAN did this have so mANY. J'ADORE

3) easy to read + concise. Bless.

4) PICTURES! MAKES SUCH A BIG DIFFERENCE. And oh my they are all IN COLOR.

5) inspiring. Maybe there IS hope for the future after all.

1) would've loved more sustainability stuff, but that's just me and my sustainability degree talking.
