The Dead Are Arising: The Life of Malcolm X by Les Payne, Tamara Payne

5.0

This falls into the category of as good as everyone says. In addition to obviously learning a lot about Malcom X, it gave me more of an appreciation for biographies, and the perspective it can have vs. a memoir or autobiography. Very inspiring in how Malcolm X stuck to his core beliefs and also continued to learn and evolve his views as he lived.

I have also thought about his mother so much since the early chapters of the book. Highly recommend.
