Marry Me Tomorrow by Carla Burgess

Really Good

I seriously enjoyed this one, except one they fell in love a little too quickly and two we didn't get to see them in a real relationship. Plus we get nothing from Sam's point of view and I'd have really liked that. Additionally I seriously hated Lydia and pretty much everyone introduced as a friend. I liked creepy Brian and was sort of hoping Emily's Mom would end up with him and I liked Emily's Mom but other than Emily and Sam the remaining cast of characters left a lot to be desired. Honestly I think it's the secondary characters that pushed this from a 4 to a 3 stars for me. Lydia especially, honestly I disliked Lydia enough I kept hoping a random piano would fall on her head. Considering she's supposed to be Emily's best friend it's a huge detractor to loathe her as much as I did. Honestly with friends like that who needs enemies? Will and Barbara were particularly foul as well. Seriously if those are the only options she had for companionship she'd be better off as a hermit. Literally the only pleasant characters in this book are Emily, Sam, Pam and Brian and Brian's a little iffy.

While I don't recommend Emily's method of finding a partner because Sam's a rare one and picking up homeless men has got to be a massive risk, I really enjoyed the plot. I liked the way Sam and Emily played off each other and I would have loved to see their interactions go on a lot longer than they did. I think if it was a little more slow burn I'd have given it four stars despite the loathsome secondary characters. There was something really special about these characters and I really enjoyed the story.
