Marbles: Mania, Depression, Michelangelo, and Me: A Graphic Memoir by Ellen Forney
5.0
I'm a big fan of Ellen Forney and this was an amazing book that did not disappoint. In the tradition of Alison Bechdel and David Small this is a raw and emotional memoir. I have known people with Bi-Polar and have a pretty good idea of what a challenging disease it is, but Forney really illustrates (literally and figuratively) what the battle is like. Beyond her own story she explores at length the correlation between mood-disorders, artists and creativity. Her struggle to come to terms with her illness is raw and open and very real. Highly recommend.
