Goddess of the Hunt by Tessa Dare

3.0

At this point I am genuinly considering giving up

So, full disclosure, Tessa Dare is somewhat of a miss or miss author for me. In that, I've read multiple of her books, and none of them particularly worked for me. Neither did I hate any of them.

After this, though I think it's time to lay down my weapons and admit defeat because by all accounts this should've worked.

Our story based on the plot follows an adventurous outgrowing woman who has decided for herself that she wants to get a husband (what a boss) and realizes that this must require some seduction and thus some practice is in order which is where a certain Jeremy comes in.

I personally love me a strong female character in historical romance. They don't necessarily have to be knife-wielding warrior women, the book I read after this was [b:How to Love a Duke in Ten Days|43263565|How to Love a Duke in Ten Days (Devil You Know, #1)|Kerrigan Byrne|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1563740185l/43263565._SY75_.jpg|67142379], in which the character was both timid and traumatized and yet still pulled off the strong female arc successfully.

This is why I was so gravely disappointed with this because the plot never told me that this character would be THAT immature. I mean she was 19. But that was also a choice and thus I am free to judge it.

I have two main complaints with this book, the first being the one above and the second the fact that these two characters had like zero conversations that made me believe that they were falling in love. Lust? Sure plenty of that was believable enough. But love. None.

I'll give it a break for now.

Tessa Dare is without a doubt an established writer and Ill leave her to the people who can appreciate her fully.
