Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology by Leah Remini

4.0

For the most part I enjoyed this memoir, especially the parts about Leah's life and struggles in Scientology which was quite shocking for a person such as myself who is only vaguely familiar with the church's teachings. However, I would have liked to read more about her home life (more about her relationships with husband, mother, child etc.) rather than the extensive bits concerning so and so person from Scientology. At times I got bored and was confused who everyone was in this cultish mess and just wanted for those bits to end.
I listened to an audio version of this memoir read by the author and believe it greatly enhanced the story (and got me through the boring bits where I may have just skimmed entire sections had I been reading), especially hearing her New York (Bensonhurst) accent.
