Ok, I love Violet and Nico's dynamic and how they're constantly egging each other on. It gives something other than the "oh no, they're hot", but allows their understanding and liking of each other to grow past the initial attraction as they spend more time together. They actually communicate when it comes to the things that matter and miscommunication isn't a plot device, which is always a relief. And once the pining is resolved, it actually let's both of their personalities and quirks come out to shine. Although I can see how some people might dislike Nico's pining and decisions to keep close to Violet in the hopes of starting a proper relationship, and think it feels stalkery/forceful/creepy, I did like the push-and-pull dynamic anyways. The expansion of the world via the struggles werewolves have with their curse of violent urges felt well timed in both the series and the book itself. (The whole "werewolf possessiveness of their mate" does tend to get a little overdone, but honestly, every male love interest in this series seems to have that kind of possessive streak, so it's more a trope of Juliette Cross' storytelling. I think it's her way of writing Wife Guys, and it doesn't get overly creepy to me.)
