Dark Possession by Christine Feehan

3.0

For some reason werewolves are weakened by the moon instead of strengthened by it? Okkayy...

Disliked the spirit world/shadow realm/afterworld that was made up. Dead characters should stay dead. Instead there is now a sister that was killed and it was partially the fault of the old leader who was trying to protect his now dead son (not Mikail). Because of this the whole vampire conspiracy was spawned instead of just blaming it on the arrogance of youth.

But, like that there is a race that didn't get completely wiped out by Carpathian blood during a lifemate merge. Was rooting that she'd keep the werewolf element and even that it would take over Manolito. Instead she merged the two (four?) of them. It seemed like there was Manolito, his wolf, Mary Ann, and her wolf and they were four separate characters instead of one male and one female.

And as always the sheer amount of sex is excessive and goes on for pages. Three or four times in a row? Sounds exhausting. More descriptive language gets added every book but some lines gross me out and get old. "Her body was laid out like a feast" for example. Referring to anything from the female as "cream".
