No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai

4.0

A brutal, heart aching story of a youngster named Yozo. Living with continuous despair of human beings and with a thought process of complete dejection, Yozo laments about his life in the three notebooks.

The book basically is very sad and depressing and did entirely show a soul growing up with depression his whole life. I did feel there were ways out but then it is what he did choose to take upon himself. A wave of emotions hit and keeps you wondering why this just happens. In the end he concludes that "Everything passes". Well it does.
