172 Hours on the Moon by Johan Harstad

2.0

I haven't read very many sci-fi/horror books, so maybe the genre just isn't for me, but I found this book really boring. I felt like the first half of it was really slow and the only purpose of this first half was to give brief backstories for each character and drop some clues as to what was going to happen later on, I just think it could have been condensed down a little more. Then, when the characters finally did reach the moon, I was kinda underwhelmed, I just wasn't as creeped out or on the edge of my seat as I thought I would've been reading this book. Since it was such a slow burn mystery, I thought the reveal would be more shocking or scarier, but it just wasn't. I guess the ending was kinda creepy, but I think I'm just don't get creeped out very easily by books because I know they're not real. Also I thought the writing was kinda weird, but that could be because it was translated. Overall I thought it was an interesting concept, but it just didn't really hit me that hard.
