Rotten to the Core by Sheila Connolly

5.0

This is the second book in the Orchard Mystery series by Sheila Connolly. I like to read series in order but I had thought this was the first book and since I had it I read it first. The series is about a woman. Meg, who gives up a high paying, high stress job in Boston to take over an apple orchard and old farm house in rural MA that has been in her family for about 200 years. In this book a local college student, Jason, who headed a student group dedicated to organic farming is found dead in her orchard's spring house. He was found to have died from pesticide poisoning. Where did the pesticide come from? How did Jason end up on her property. Lots of questions, no shortage of suspects, and a sheriff who has taken a definite dislike of Meg work together to make a good read.
