The Eye of Minds (the Mortality Doctrine, Book One) by James Dashner

4.0

I've become a recent fan of Dashner since I started reading The Maze Runner in anticipation of the new movie. Much like TMR, the writing style sounds like a teenager wrote it than an accomplished adult like Mr. Dashner. I enjoyed the book, however, though some of the descriptions were a little boring, (high-school era descriptions that work for the character--which is excellent for the author to thoroughly write the characters--but not really for the novel as a whole) and even though this is a YA novel, it seems like it could have been written better.

I still enjoyed the story and it's enough that I will keep reading the series as its released.
