The First Day of Spring by Nancy Tucker

4.0

I didn't really know what to expect from this book, and I'm glad I didn't because that might have caused me to pass on it. This is a very very sad story, all the more so because Tucker has bestowed just the right amount of self-awareness on her characters -- in other words, incomplete awareness. Glimmers of hope leave the reader wondering whether they could be real. Nicely done.
