Beginning with a description of the man's ego and ignorance, the book set up a domino line. Moving along the narrative, the pieces start to connect, guiding the story towards its inevitable conclusion. To my surprise, the book's tone maintained a surprising tranquility, which, in turn, infused the atmosphere with a poignant quality. This changes the atmosphere to have this sentimental effect which makes you feel a bit more sympathy for the protagonist. Overall, it was certainly an interesting read and quite a memorable one.
