Kim by Rudyard Kipling

  • Plot- or character-driven? Plot

the colonial undertones of this novel is what makes this novel so incredibly compelling. its THE novel of empire. it portrays british rule as something so benign and fits every character other than kim into these neat caricatures and stereotypes yet you can tell the portrayals are loving. i thought about this book way more than i expected i would!
