Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros

4.0

If I could remove aspects of this book it would be amazing! perfect! brilliant!

The members of fourth wing are my absolute favourite and we must protect them at all costs. I enjoyed that we got more time with Rhi, Ridoc and Sawyer in this book, as well as getting to see them being more powerful, both leading and fighting ⭐️. The magic of dragons and signets just makes this a series unlike any other, too. I’m so glad Yarros decided to expand on the world building, plot and war for this one.

However, I’m not sure how much of this is based on the fact I’ve been super busy and stressed at work but… the excessive amount of characters and names without ANY description (especially physically) just ruined parts of it for me. I could NOT track who is a gryphon or dragon or rider or flier and I just wish she had… bothered… with just a lil bit more than hair colour…. please……… Also, Xaden and Violet needed to quit arguing every few chapters. There were emotional moments that goT me and I still love them but, again, Yarros just needed to hold off a little with the unnecessary back and forth. A couple of times would’ve been enough.

Don’t get me wrong it’s still amazing and one of the best series of books I’ve read: Loved the first half, loved the ending. There was just a bit in the middle that I would like reducing and it would be as good as the first. I will reread knowing which characters to disregard in my head and probably enjoy it more.
