☆ Review by a Fan Girl - This Will Obviously Be Positive ☆
Where can I even begin with this one? I have played the game and now I've read the book. I can easily forgive anyone for this not being their cup of tea and I know exactly why. There is not much role playing going on in a novel. Assassin's Creed has been a favourite of thousands for years and with every new release we are equally as hooked (at least I know I am). But I have to say I have yet to encounter a character as captivating as our Kassandra.
I believe the author has done a fantastic job with the characterisation of Kassandra and has kept it consistent throughout. The plot of the book was very well presented, and included key events in chronological order all the while paying respect to the 'grind'.
It was honestly a more digestible piece of content for when you feel like playing the game for the story but would prefer to stay in bed. I also enjoyed how the story focused on Kassandra alone and not our other protagonist Layla because I feel like that would have lessened the story, personally. It was a great read with all of the humour and inside jokes from the game.
In sum, I would recommend this to who would enjoy a supercut of the Assassin's Creed Odyssey plot in the Animus (without the DLCs of course).
