A really solid follow-up to The Fifth Season. I loved the first book in the trilogy the most so far, but this book was too good to knock down to a 4.5-star, I'd rather I'd rate Fifth Season as 5.5-star!
This book was a bit more challenging for me to follow, and I had a few more questions than the first book. I still don't fully understand what's happening withthe 'silver' in Schaffa, and which 'sides' he's being pulled by. I would've loved to understand a bit more of the politics of the different 'factions' in this 'war' , and I'm definitely confused by what is going on with Father Earth . But I really do have very high expectations of the third book, and trust the Jemisin to satisfy all my longing for information :-)
I'm not usually super big on coming-of-age stories and children's or young people's perspectives because they often seem so unrealistic, but Jemisin manages to make her characters just the right amount of everything, except annoying!
