a fun, cosy, witchy sapphic romance that’s perfect for autumn/october and has a nice practical magic found family vibe in the background amongst the witches and their coven
i preferred the first half of this book to the second half, once i figured out what was going on the last 100 pages seemed to drag a little especially when the solution was so simple and right there
the first half however was a lot of fun and i enjoyed the flirty banter and fake dating aspect on the backdrop of magic and cosy witchy vibes
the ending wrapped up nicely and i did enjoy reading about the NEWT festival and all of the magical games and competitions that the witches held against each other throughout the middle, plus morgan’s family are adorable 🥰
could’ve rated this higher if there was less miscommunication, a slightly faster pace throughout the middle and end, and if some of the interactions between characters had felt deeper
