Wow. Graceling is my all time favorite book, so I was super excited when I heard it was being adapted into a graphic novel. Release day finally rolled around& I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. Of course they had to leave out some of the side story and therefore some character building, but they did a really fantastic job of still hitting all the plot points. Plus the characters were still well developed, just not as much as the original book. & when I tell you the artwork in this book is absolutely GORGEOUS. The scenery was STUNNING , and the emotions expressed by the characters felt visceral, wow. Especially the last page, that scene took my breath away. I also loved the change in illustration style for Leck’s story. & the last page of Grella’s pass….. ANYWAYS, if you’ve never read Graceling before, this would definitely make sense since it’s the meat of the original novel with breathtaking illustrations, and IMO would be VERY enjoyable. But, if you’ve read Graceling before, this novel just takes it to another level. Seriously, I loved this graphic novel so much, and if you’re on the fence about reading it, take the plunge. It’s 1000% worth it.

Plus my favorite quote from the novel was in there. Would quote it, but I don’t want to put spoilers in my review. People can probably guess what it was though.
