Brilliant, thought-provoking, funny and accessible
Listened to the audio for this one which is read brilliantly by the author. I find his voice really lovely to listen to and he delivers it in such a way that I found myself almost chatting back to him about some of his thoughts and assertions.
This is definitely novella length but there is a lot packed into it and it really made me think about religion, God and Gods, the human desire for their to be something greater or more than us and also about our long history of story telling. The idea that their is a fundamental human need to tell and hear stories really made me think about my relationship with God and religion and how stories are maybe a fundamental part of that.
I will definitely be buying a copy of this book at some point as it is one I know I will return to more than once as I think about what he wrote and find myself drawn back to reading it again.
