This wasn’t the worst book i’ve ever read but it definitely was not the best.
i think the stuff about ryles abuse was well written and lily still caring about ryle after everything was quite realistic because many people don’t realise how hard it is to stop caring about someone even if they hurt you. Lily constantly compares Ryle to her dad and that made her see things differently as she didn’t realise it was abuse. She realises throughout her story she’s become the very thing that she hated about her mother.
“As his daughter, i loved him. But as a human, I hated him.”
i’m only giving it 2 stars because i don’t think she should’ve got with atlas i think she should’ve stayed single as i feel like it was unnecessary to the story and they definitely didn’t need a sequel.
I do love Lilys growth throughout the book as she realises the way Ryle treats her is not okay no matter how much she loves him. She eventually builds up the strength to leave him so that her daughter will never have to grow up in the way she did.
“It stops here. With me and you. It ends with us”
it also made me really uncomfortable how atlas was 18 and lily was 15 when they first got today
i absolutely hated the letters to ellen and the cow shit thing made me uncomfortable 💀💀💀
“when he was wiping that cow shit on me, it was quite possible the most turned on i have ever been”
