This was a good read, and relatively quick since it’s all in verse. I wanted to like this more than I did, and I wonder if I was either closer to the age of the main characters or if they were closer to mine it would have changed how I felt. The loss of a friend, especially wrt car accidents did hit home for me though. The suddenness of it, feeling turned upside down. Gow really captured with Noah all the feelings of uncertainty and complicated emotions of losing a friend your age, and even just like how your parents act after, and somehow that’s what I liked best about reading this. Thought I was gonna like all the Mothman stuff the best since he’s my favorite cryptid, but a lot of that fell to the wayside for me and instead the grieving process stood out to me
