I think if I had read this years ago when it entered my TBR I would have loved it. Because I read it at this time when I'm well-versed and post-Gypsy Rose release - I don't think it worked as well for me.
It is a very classic cat-and-mouse and the drama was palpable. I enjoyed the twists and despite seeing some coming I utterly gasped at the end. Twisty. Very twisty. It is a variation of the authentic story - if things had gone differently - and it's great.
