Utterly brilliant.  My own little grey cells are not quite a match for Poirot's, and while I had an inkling of the ending I was not quite right. This is the first Christie I have read to deal with a serial killer, and I was worried that in dealing with impersonal killings the book would lose some of the wonderful character insights which make Christie the most exceptional of writers. Fortunately the worry was unfounded and the cast of characters are as colourful as ever, and Poirot's wit, insight, and compassion are as evident as ever.  The investigation unfolds wonderfully, pieces sliding into place, and when the picture is finally revealed it's as satisfying as it is genius. If Agatha Christie had ever killed anyone, I'm sure she'd have gotten away without trouble.

Phenomenal, funny, inventive, and with the ever present kindness which I think makes her the enduring writing genius she is, i highly recommend this book.
