This book reminded me very much of a Taylor Jenkins Reid novel. I am not sure if it was the setting, west coast or the twisted famous family romance. Either way, I CAN say I do enjoy this trope. The small, deserted, close-knit town vibes were nice. Don't always love this, or it is typically creepy. thriller, or horror. But the winter and Christmas time made this town cozy and cherry.

I LOVED the character development. It was so guddd. I am such a sucker for well developed characters that have many dimensions. Prob why it reminded me of Taylor Jenkins Reid as well, her characters are impeccably written.

Only real critique was the ending or chain of events. They were kind of predictable and it was a happily ever after. It is always nice to read a book with a happy ending butttt it can be a wee bit boring as well. I kept thinking, oh they aren't going to let her wake up and resume life and yet she made a full recovery with a very low survival rate. Like a traumatic brain injury like that is very difficult to recover from.
With that being said, the plot and middle of the book was SPICYYY, holy hot tamales. Just wish the end was a wee bit more spicyyy
