Lord Holt Takes a Bride by Vivienne Lorret

3.0

I was prepared to dislike this book. For starters, I’m not a huge fan of the road trip romance. And also, I don’t like frothy pink covers (I know, I know).

But I enjoyed it quite a bit! I liked both main characters and their trip did not bore me. The enjoyed the surrounding stories as well, though I definitely wanted more details about aunt Lolly.

A couple things I took exception with: more info on Asher’s friends would have been nice; maybe a little less mishap on the road would have been good; and what happened once Winn’s parents came and confronted Asher really ticked me off. I mean, I get that W was not very confident, but if you’ve told someone that nothing could change your mind about them and then.... something easily does and you don’t allow explanation? That bothers me a lot.

The writing was quite good and I’ll happily pick up another book by this author.
