Fair Warning by Michael Connelly

4.0

RATING: 4 STARS

Fair Warning is. the third novel in the Jack McEvoy series. Jack is a journalist, that is from the Harry Bosch universe, but this novel does not feature Bosch. While this book can be read as a standalone novel, there are spoilers on characters. Michael Connelly takes on the pros and cons of DNA testing in this one. When women are being murdered, the one common trait is that they have recently used a DNA testing company like 23 and Me. Jack is brought into the investigation when one of the woman murdered was someone he slept with in the past. As he starts to look into the case he notices that the data collected from the DNA testing is not being monitored on how it is being used. Soon he finds himself in the crosshair of the killer. I found the novel real interesting as the information on DNA testing was factual, and I have seen many law enforcement agencies use it to find a murderer in cold cases (ie: Golden State Killer). Highly recommend this one.
