Homicide and Halo-Halo by Mia P. Manansala

5.0

I think this is the first cozy I have read that comes with trigger warnings at the beginning. Through Lila, Mia P. Manansala shows us a more realistic portrayal of a main character’s life is like after catching a murderer. As someone that is not a stranger to anxiety, Lila’s feelings and reactions are spot on. The mystery is intriguing, and Manansala does well with building relationships.

I needed this book during the pandemic. We follow Lila through her lows, but since it is a cozy, we get to see her rise again. I cannot recommend this series enough.
