Body in the Book Drop by Lynn Cahoon

4.0

Cat's recent break-up hasn't derailed her life; she's working as a Teaching Assistant at her college whilst also attending classes. As a bonus, one of the professors seems to be romantically interested in her. Then her mother is sacked from her librarian position and things go from bad to worst when the boss ends up dead atop of books in her mother's book drop.

I was happily reading along when suddenly I hit a very abrupt closure to the story. As I had been enjoying both the characters and the premise, it was a bit of a wrench. I wasn't keen on how the mystery was solved, either. But these are the hazards of a short story, I suppose, and everything else hooked me so I'm eager to read more in this series.
