The Queen of the Dawn by S.M. Gaither

I’m SO sad this series has come to an end. I totally wasn’t prepared for this book and I want to thank the author for the opportunity to read one of my highly anticipated releases early.

Casia and Elander have come so far. I admit I thought the conflict between them was going to last a little longer the way things ended for them in book 4. But I was equally glad to see it wasn’t dragged out and a bit bummed that it was resolved so quickly? Maybe I’m too much of a sucker for angst but it did feel a bit…anticlimactic.

Varen… :’) That’s all I will say. His scenes with Casia had my heart in knots. I was hoping things would’ve been different there but alas…I really know how to pick some of these characters as faves.

Some of the action scenes I thought were a little confusing. I had to reread certain parts just to figure out what was happening and I’m sure it was probably intentional. Regardless this book had me on the edge of my seat! The imagery was incredible and I love how certain battle scenes felt reminiscent to LOTR.

Overall, I loved this book!! I’ll miss this cast but I’m super excited to see what else SM Gaither has in store for her readers.
