Succubus Revealed by Richelle Mead

Throughout the entire Georgina Kincaid series Georgie has been fighting for her relationship with Seth, and as Succubus Revealed wraps up the series, it's only right that the entire book is really devoted to Georgina quite literally taking one last stand for them both.
In all honesty, I've never really understood Georgina and Seth together. I mean, Seth is a nice guy and I can definitely see that they have something together. But passion isn't really part of that and so while I've never been anti-Georgina-and-Seth, I haven't always been holding my breath for them to finally have their happily ever after.
For me the strong points about the series are Georgina's friends and her interactions with them -- particularly Carter and Roman. I've always had a soft spot for both of those characters and in my opinion Carter has always been the deepest and most interesting character in the series. So I'm happy to say that despite the story being about Georgina (obviously) we did get our fair share of those two. Although I don't really think it was necessary to essentially kill off Roman -- I thought that was totally uncalled for given the amazing friend he's become over the last several books.
Of course, the other strong point is that it's written by Richelle Mead, who is one of my favorite authors and has a true talent for suspense and surprises. Not that either of these were really present in this particular book unfortunately. The story was pretty straightforward and honestly pretty predictable. Most of us who have read the whole series really should have picked up a long time ago where it was going. I was kind of disappointed that it was just that easy and while there were some surprises in the details, the overall punch line was pretty much as-to-be expected.
But despite a predictable storyline, Mead's writing style drew me in and I was happy to see the series come to a very appropriate ending, even though it might have lacked suspense and passion. Now if only Carter would get his own spin-off series I would be as happy as a clam. :)
