Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body by Roxane Gay

emotional informative reflective sad medium-paced

5.0

As a fat queer black woman who comes from Caribbean heritage, this was the first time I felt truly seen in a book. People don’t understand what it’s like to live in a fat body and what it’s like to navigate the world physically and emotionally. The scars you carry on your skin and in your heart. Roxane Gay opens herself up to show what that’s like and I am so grateful for her words.
