So... Ever is awfully dense, huh? New guy comes to town, the school turns against her (and unites) and even though she knows new guy has something to do with it, she still... doesn't know he's an actual bad guy because he doesn't have a tattoo in the same place as the last bad guy.

You wound me, Ever. You really do. That said, as frustrating as it was to read, I enjoyed the fact that Roman is an actual villain who, you know, managed to pull off his nefarious scheme because he counted on the heroine to be too stupid to trust in the right people. Usually villains exist to throw a temporary problem at the Star Crossed Lovers and then, bam, by the end of their first appearance, they're toasted.

So. Points for avoiding that. Points off for Roman's never ending speech at the end. My eyes glazed over and not even my admiration for his banking on Ever's stupidity could keep me interested.

I miss Riley and liked that we got to see her again, briefly. I'm disappointed that Miles turned so quickly on Ever, even with Immortal mind control. Haven I can see, having just lost two guys to Ever, but for once I'd like the best girl friend not be oh!so jealous. It's annoying and unnecessary.

Otherwise meh. I want more of the creepy but badly named twins and Riley. Seriously, you could off Ever and Damen and give me the exploits of Riley's Boarding School for the Dead (or... whatever they are) and I'd be all in.
