This was the February read for the Chronically Iconic Book Club, as it has fibromyalgia rep.

A magical serial killer is on the loose in the Occult town of Wrackton, leaving strange clues and carvings on the bodies of the victims. Mallory, a witch and the founder of The Undetectables Detective Agency receives a letter begging for help to identify the serial killer. The first case The Undetectables ever had was never solved, and all the members have gone their own way, but Mallory rounds them up to try to bring the killer to justice before more people get hurt.

Unfortunately, I feel a bit indifferent about this book. I did find the mystery interesting, so that kept me reading. And I really enjoyed the portrayal of friendship between this group of friends. Some of the conversations the friends had about Mallory’s chronic illness diagnosis are very important, and it was great to see them happening in a fictional novel. But overall, I felt the book was too long, and it never gave me that I-can’t-put-it-down feeling.
