When I opened Ace of Spades and the first two quotes I saw were from Gossip Girl and Get Out, you could not have convinced me that this book was going to be the perfect Wednesday child of those two shows, however I’m here to tell you it is. Each of the characters is well written and distinct, the atmosphere of the story is something you can imagine in your own town, and the plot moves like a well-written YA, but not too fast. Something I especially enjoyed is the building and the plot twists that just. kept. coming. Never once through out this story did I sit back in my seat and feel like I honestly knew who the protagonist was or what the next terrible thing that was going to happen would be. The only complaints I was able to find were all minuscule and in no way ruined this book or it’s authenticity for me, in fact, if I could read this book again, I
would but since I can’t, please read it for me!
