There was not a moment of this book that I didn’t love. One could say it is slow to medium paced, but I found it so engaging it felt fast to me. I cannot wait to get my hands on a paper back and annotate it for hours, there were so many lines that are quotable and could be highlighted, and just amazing.  It’s hard to think of this book as a fantasy, despite it having fantastical elements such as warring gods and magical typewriters; it reads more like a ww2 wartime story. I loved all of character (except ONE), and even more loved their relationships. The easiest 5/5 stars all year for me (and I’ve had a few)
The song invisible string by Taylor swift was written for them I swear.
I am forever obsessed with the idea of love letters, so the concept of them falling in love with their words is unmatched. Not to mention fact that Iris loved Roman, not only as himself, but also as another unknown writer as “Carver”.
I know there’s so much nuance that Im missing because of my pure emotion right now, but I’m just left reeling by that ending; it’s such a cliffhanger! My eyes were welling with tears for Roman..and for Iris. I love them both. </spoilers>
