✨MINI ARC REVIEW✨

I was so excited to come back into the Broken Kingdom world, especially as I just finished The Ever Duology a few weeks ago. To be given an ARC by the amazing @authorljandrews is a dream come true and I still can’t believe I’m on her street team!

I was looking forward to this book from the moment Skadi was introduced in the Ever series. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her story and oh… it didn’t disappoint.

I will say that the beginning of the book was a bit slow, but only because it is an interconnected stand alone and it had to give backstory that you would already know from reading the Ever series. However, once the book gets past establishing the circumstances and the world, it kicks into high gear and I didn’t want to put it down!!

Skadi and Jonas have a marriage of convenience and such a delicious slow burn that had me desperate for the moments their banter turns to feelings. Watching as Skadi had to relearn not only herself, but also how others interact with her was such a beautiful storyline. She grew and flourished in this kingdom full of thieves and she came into her own in such a glorious way. Supported instead of suffocated, loved instead of used.

I loved being back in the work of the Kryv with Kase and Malin. The king and Queen have beautiful moments that are just a sigh of relief if you read their original romance. An epilogue for their epilogue — a glimpse back into their happily ever after.

The banter was absolutely top tier and I had multiple moments of laughing and swooning over their relationship.

I enjoyed how the author has this tension throughout the book of the “other shoe dropping” but it gave us enough time to get to know our couple before the main conflict came back into play. The conflict was so well written and I really enjoyed watching the bad guys get what was coming to them!!
