“Her eyes shining with the light of it. Beneath, between, beyond. Along the endless circle. Down the ceaseless spiral. And waiting for her on the other side? Just like he promised.
...
A whole sky of different stars.”

Story and pacing-wise, I definitely enjoyed this one much better than the first as it was a more captivating read. Though I did missed Kady and Ezra in this one. The different situations going on were much easier to follow and connect back to previous files. And WOW the several plot twists came out of nowhere and I loved how it was handled. Then tension and expansion of the harsh reality ramped up in unsparing ways one right after the other, and did get bit detailed about some of them. Nonetheless, it was just like being able to visualize a whole sci-fi action film with ruthless enemies. Hanna started out as a character I didn't like much but once I was about 100 pages in and everything started escalating, I loved that she was able to fully realize the situation, know what she had to do, and her training and overall being a badass kicked in. And Nik, he was just everything, the biggest softie that put his family first no matter what, though everyone saw it as the 'bad boy you should stay away from.' I WENT FERAL when the hyperspatial quantum and multiverse theories came into play! I love watching shows with those kind of attributes, so seeing it in books and the different views on the theory is just so interesting to me and fun to read. Overall, this was such an exciting read as I was absorbed in it the whole time, the plot and characters we're so well thought out and developed, and the format made so much sense for the story and flowed so well. I am very much anticipating when I get to Obsidio and see how Kady & Ezra and Hanna & Nik work together!

“I cannot help but wonder
If the thought of saving all those lives and hopes and dreams
Pales in comparison
To the thought of seeing him again.

I wonder.”
