Well, that was definitely a roller coaster.

I must admit to myself, I probably should not have read the last five chapters at two in the morning considering that they were MUCH scarier than the previous chapters combined. Bloody hell, I was absolutely petrified. That’s why I don’t usually read thrillers/horrors because I literally can’t handle being scared.

This book has been all over my Tumblr and I literally went to Amazon and ordered it straight away. Thanks to the ship Cresswell from The Lunar Chronicles for helping me stumble upon this masterpiece.

SpoilerI KNEW that The Ripper wasn’t Lord Wadsworth, Maniscalco was putting too much emphasis on him being responsible AND I WASN’T FALLING FOR IT!!! I have to admit though, when Audrey Rose found that secret passage in his office I accepted that it was him. BUT NO, I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG. IT WAS NATHANIEL, HER BROTHER. Well, I wasn’t 100% certain, but I kept adding things up and I was definitely suspicious.

The sluttliest thing a man can do is whatever Thomas Cresswell was doing in this book. Bro, he had me blushing on behalf of Audrey Rose. LIKE DAMN. He genuinely cares about her so much, it’s so cute. When they were out trying to find clues about Jack the Ripper and these two guys ambushed them and held a knife to her throat AND WHEN SHE GOT HERSELF OUT OF IT, HE WAS ALL STUTTERING AND CHECKING HER FOR INJURIES. Mannn 🥲🥲🥲.

Screaming into my pillow as we speak.

I loved how Thomas encouraged Audrey Rose to be herself in a society that condemned that, and deemed her “unladylike” for liking the same things as a man.

I SENSE A NEW OBSESSION INCOMING.
