Marni Mann continues to bring the SPICE in this addictively sexy Dalton Brothers series! And holy moly, The Intern is HOT! With two brassy leads, endless sexual tension, panty-melting spice, and some magnetic chemistry, this is a delicious and easy read.
We’ve been treated to the yummy Dalton brothers thus far, but now we’re treated with the story of a Dalton lady, as our heroine Hannah is the Dalton’s baby cousin. Like her cousins, she’s focused on building a strong and meaningful career in law. We’ve seen her be a generous and loving support to her cousin Ford in prior books, and now we get to see her more fully. She’s a focused and ambitious young woman with dreams of being a lawyer in her family’s firm after she finishes law school. And she’s easily a heroine you can fall for- she’s strong, brilliant, incredibly giving to those she loves, and a hard worker. And, she’s got spine. Growing up around all these Daltons prepares her to for the man she doesn’t see coming.
Of course, Marni gives us a deliciously forbidden dynamic for the meet cute as Declan returns to his alma mater for a visit and fins himself impressed by one sharp and also incredibly beautiful student….Hannah. SO of course her to his meeting with some of the top students, and the chemistry just sizzles. Of course, just when they think they might not see each other again, Declan ends up accepting a role at the Dalton group and his new intern is none other than the enchanting law student that he’s already met…. In more ways than one. And not only is she his intern but she’s a DALTON! Gasp! Cue up all the workplace dynamics and fire sexual tension between these two as they try to settle into these new roles and being around each other. Declan is a complete alphahole- like sexy Miranda from DWP vibes. Hardcore- he’s demanding, full of himself, sex and confident personified. Nothing can conquer this man- except for his younger and steely intern. MEOW.
I really enjoyed this story- and I loved how Marni give us ample story to go with the ample steam. The heat comes first, and comes in HEAVY (needs a cold shower…..), but these two evolve in their connection. Declan certainly is a jerk at times (and does him not nice things to Hannah), but Hannah owns him, and I love that kind of dynamic. And given that they're both brilliant, strong, and confident - we get some epic battle of wills and banter. Marni delivers a scorching tension that keeps the pages turning.
This series keeps getting more delicious…and more heartfelt and substantive. I’m a total goner for steamy age gaps, and this one delivered. I can’t wait for our final story.
