The Life We Bury by Allen Eskens

2.0

The whole idea that the old man is actually innocent is just so cliche, I don’t have any points to give for originality. The final twist was also not that shocking either since I was so uninvested at that point. Of course a happily ever after for such a cliche piece of work. The way the MC forces his dream girl into an uncomfortable date-not-date also made him seem like an asshole, which I don’t think was the intention but I’m really over the whole, just be persistent trope.
