I think this book just wasn't for me. I was initially really interested based on the plot, but I ended up waffling my way through this book. I kept going back on forth on do I like it? Do I hate it? Am I bored or am I really interested?

To start, I loved the conversation. Lola's dry wit is hysterical and she has these jarring one-liners that I loved! I want a character like Lola in every book. Her personality alone gave the star-rating a huge jump. The rest of the book felt like push and pull between loving and hating. The beginning and ending were both really strong, though the ending did feel really abrupt. I felt like the book started out really captivating and I really like how everything got wrapped up at the end.

The entire middle felt like a big puddle of mush though. I get what the author was doing, but it felt a little to repetitive and it felt like it was trying a little too hard. There were some stand out aspects I liked, mostly snippets of conversations, but overall I skimmed my way through and kept putting the book down. Sometimes even in the middle of chapters. Overall, I see the intent and what the author wanted to do with the story...it just didn't do it for me.
