Master & Apprentice by Claudia Gray

well, I'm disappointed. claudia gray has accustomed me to a certain kind of star wars book and this unfortunately wasn't it.

was it bad? absolutely not. was it mostly tedious? sadly, yes. the political plot almost put me to sleep. the insight into dooku's background and the beginning of qui-gon and obi-wan's relationship was amazing and that was what I was expecting most of the book to be about. but unfortunately, it isn't. nothing besides these two points got my interest. still, the last chapter got me deep in the feels and now I want to watch the prequels yet another time.

this reads as a very safe, disney-like redemption of a star wars story. and that was my main criticism of any star wars book not written by claudia gray. my least favorite of hers but definitely not the worst from the galaxy far far away
