This was a pretty decent gothic thriller set in 1850s England.  I was able to predict part of the ending but it was still fun seeing how it played out as there were some elements I was not able to predict.  What would have elevated this book for me was a deeper exploration of the development of the romantic relationship between our MC and LI.  Their romantic relationship doesn't quite come out of no where but seeing it develop would have improved it.  I also think the author could have spent a bit more time on the ending as the pace really picks up and it felt like we were tying up a lot of loose ends without a lot of explanation.

Overall, I thought the book was fun and would read another book by this author.
