You Are Not Alone by Sarah Pekkanen, Greer Hendricks

This was boring. I thought it would be a zesty story about a sisterhood getting vengeance against male abusers, but instead it ended up being an odd cat and mouse tale between women that lacked focus.

I think this story would have been stronger had we had fewer perspectives. Getting the Moore sisters' perspectives ruins the mystery for the reader; we see that they're fucking with her from the start and we know never to root for them. Had it been limited to Shay's POV the story would have been much stronger and there would have been a clear direction and climax to the story.

Instead it zigs, zags, and meanders all over the place and the reveals end up feeling half-baked. The revenge element pops up at the beginning and the end, and the middle is just this really depressing game of two rich white women fucking with someone who clearly needs help.

Bleurgh.
