The world builting and the whole concept super interesting. Also the social commentary, loved the characters and the diversity of them. It was a bit difficult to get into it, partially because of the writing, but also because the world builting is explained as it goes. So the magic system and the social constructs are not thrown it your face, it is explained as it goes. A lot of themes also are explored in this book, oppression, slavery, survival and resilience. It also explores self-development and how the experiences of life shape us. Overall an important story that should be told.
