Faking It: A billionaire, fake dating, forced proximity romance by K. Bromberg

2.0

2 stars. I struggled with this one a lot. In theory, it should’ve worked for me because it has enemies to lovers and faking dating. Those two tropes are my kryptonite but they just didn’t work for me here because I hated both main characters and the romance fell completely flat for me. It was all so frustrating and boring.

Harlow and Zane were both so incredibly annoying and childish. Zane in particular was very one dimensional. His excuse for everything was ‘I’m a man’ which is the laziest shit ever. Him ‘being a man’ was his only character trait and that was sad to see. He never grew on me and his development didn’t feel natural so them getting together in the end was really corny to me. Harlow was annoying and she was constantly jumping to conclusions and ready to fight for nothing. I was exhausted for her. Her development was a little bit better but not much but she never really grew on me either.

I don’t know, I just didn’t like anything about this except for the writing. I do want to read more by this author but this wasn’t a good one to start off with.
